This is a place to discuss any movies that you are looking forward too. You can also talk about any gossip you've heard about upcoming movies.
I personally can not wait for Land of the Dead. I am a huuuge zombie movie fan.
What can't you wait for?

Yeah, anything Comic Book related and I can't wait excluding Batman...don't get me started on Batman. I proposed to a guy yesterday because he said he didn't like Batman hehe.
Fantastic Four will be..fantastic.
X3....I like X-men but it seems they are doing a bad job at staying true to the comics. Like making Angel a man. *hangs head in shame* Plus I heard on Super Hero Hype, that the director dropped out so filming will be delayed. That sucks.
As for the New Harry Potter.. I will cry so bad but no spoilers for the kiddies who haven't read it yet.

Angel is supposed to be a man. If they make him a woman, then it'll be so stupid. I don't think they're going to end up doing that though. I think they already selected a new director. Brett Rattner.
Batman is cool and Batman Begins will do the dark knight some justice. Previous Batman movies made Batman a chump.

thats what I meant XD i typed it backwards lol
Ok, you started it, Batman is not a super hero. He is not super, he has a belt, he is not a hero, he is a vigilante.

I never said he was. That's what's great about Batman... I can actually dream of becoming him His power comes through himself; his knowledge, martial arts, multilingualism, interrogation/intimidation techniques, technological expertise.

That's true but he is a jerk. I don't find a man who is out for himself, avenging his parent's death great in anyway. I'm no fan of The Punisher for the same reason.

It's not like he's unnecessarily harsh on everyone. The Punisher dishes out punishment... Batman stops crimes. There is a difference. The police are usually more brutal than Batman. Just look at the people he has to deal with, no radiation overlords, just psychotic freaks. Clayface, the Joker, Poison Ivy, the Riddler, Mr. Freeze, Catwoman, the Penguin, Two-Face, and Scarecrow are just a few among the many freaks Batman puts up with. Cut the man some slack, he does it all without any powers. Plus, with the exception of a few, his enemies have so much anger, rage, and hatred with the world. He tries to be sympathetic, but he has this city to protect. Yeah, he inherited money... could he have been the Anti-Luthor and just used his money to fund crimefighting? Sure. However, he decided to get right into the confrontation himself and isolate himself in the process. On top of that, he does everything with style. If your parents are murdered in front of your eyes and you don't do anything afterwards to stop it from happening to anyone else, then you're basically dishonouring them. As for your proposal, is that all that women want? Give up Batman for love, eh? Batman... love... Batman... love... BATMAN.... love.... tough choice. Hey, if Batman can grow old alone, then so can I!

Haha, you're hilarious. A true geek to give up love for his comic book characters. It's not what women want persay but what I want. I have this geek fetish. I mean, David Rendalls characters who are nerds for example.
So back to Batman. It isn't dishonoring your family to let the criminal go. It's not his job to deal with it, it's the police. Plus once he got his vengence he just stopped criminals from stealing money and jewelery and museum artifacts. He doesn't really save people so much but the movies glorify him. He was a detective/anti-theft device in the comics. Money doesn't buy super hero qualities.

The one thing they don't do so well in comics or movies (and this is intentional) is show the results of the super hero lifestyle. I take Tae Kwon Do and come home bruised and sore on a daily basis. When it is really hot and humid NO ONE in the class kicks well. Professional boxers have MONTHS inbetween bouts to train and recuporate...
Yet, Batman, a mere mortal with nothing but a cape and martial arts, beats people up, gets beaten up and generally gets abused on a daily basis. Plus - what with being out at all hours of the night, is utterly sleep deprived as well. He still has to function as Bruce Wayne during the day.
That said, comics in any medium require a supreme act of suspention of disbelief. Physics and logic should be checked at the door... comics are modern fabels. These are our ages myths and legends. These are simply repackaged stories of gods walking the earth - like Zeus, Thor, Herculese and all the others from days long past. Batman would be likened to Achilles....human, but better than human.
There are so many primal reasons that comics and comic adapted films should resonate with society. With the exception of Howard the Duck and The Swamp Thing 2 (with Heather Locklier -yummy) - those just stank.
But, this should be about movies and I am looking forward to Fantastic Four, Harry Potter (in November!) Land of the Dead, War of the Worlds Bewitched and more! It is going to be a great summer for movies!

Land of the Dead comes out tomorrow. I'm still really excited ^^. Anything remotely relating to zombie hooks me. I watched an interview with George Romero yesterday. It was tres amazing. Crediting him with the invention of the zombie film. *le sigh* Couldn't be cooler.

Yeah, I have seen Shaun of the Dead. It has to be one of my favourite movies. The part where they're thinnking of what to do with Shaun's mom's boyfriend guy, brilliant. I really like british humor, I'd have to say.

That was hysterical! even my mum was laughing out loud. My dad wasn't as amused... but he just didn't get the subtle humor of the zombie genre.
