I wrote this after watching Trail Blaze. Lets just say that there's conflict between Blaze and Evil Sage when Blaze gets back ;D This may make you feel sorry for Blaze, or it will make you think that he had it coming. ;D
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
He sighed in defeat. He was back. He'd have a lot of explaining to do to Violet. But then he thought about... her... Sage. Man, was he in for it. And it was sooner than he expected. All of a sudden he felt like someone was watching him. And when he turned around, there she was. Evil Sage.
"You disgusting pig..." she said, putting her hands on her hips.
"What are you so mad about? I did the best I could, but they sent me back," said Blaze, "I'd expect Violet to be pissed at me, but not you. What did I do?" he just got a slap right in the face.
"How could you make out with that girl!?" Evil Sage shouted. She was glad they were in an alley. So there were no witnesses incase her anger got out of hand.
"Listen, it's not like you were there. I didn't think that you would find out. It meant nothing," Blaze said as he put his arm around his girlfriend's waist, trying to put the charm on her, "and besides, it's not like you didn't do the same when you went there" and he got slapped again.
"I only did that because I wanted revenge on you!" said Evil Sage, the fire of anger burning in her eyes.
"And you thought that making out with some guy that looks like a chick was getting revenge on me?" Blaze asked.
"And why the hell were you making out with that blond whore anyway?" Evil Sage asked. Blaze could tell now by the sound of her voice that she was hurt, "Was it just because I wasn't there and you just needed to make out with someone so you chose that slut? You couldn't have at least made out with the alternate universe me? Because I would have been less angry with you then"
"Sage, are you kidding me? That good-two-shoes?" said Blaze.
"You could have just restrained yourself until you got sent back, or I got out" said Evil Sage.
"Sage, you know that I'm a guy and we can't hold ourselves back for that long," said Blaze, "but don't worry. You know I love you"
"Somehow I can't believe that anymore..." Evil Sage said, "sometimes I wish you were still suicidal. I was at least sure that you really did love me then" then she thought "No... I don't wish that... I'd rather be unsure about your love for me and know that you were happy and wanted to live than being sure about it and you wanting to die..." she felt tears in her eyes. But she couldn't let Blaze see.
"Why did you kiss that freak, Vern, anyway?" Blaze asked.
Sage stepped away and looked him in the eye. She was mad as hell and she was going to tell him just what her motive was.
"I ONLY KISSED HIM TO GET BACK AT YOU FOR KISSING AND TELLING!" Evil Sage shouted so loud that the whole neighborhood heard it. Blaze just looked at her. He knew what she was talking about.
"Ever since we... gave ourselves to each other... you've been different..." Evil Sage said, "...and when you told everyone, I got really mad. And when I managed to get out, I did something that I knew would get you mad, so would realize just how easy it was for you to lose me. And you almost did..."
It was Blaze's turn to feel rotten. She deserved better than him. So that was what he would give her. He took her in his arms and kissed her. For a moment, Evil Sage forgot about her anger. Then when they broke apart, Blaze said to her "I'm sorry..." and he walked away, leaving her there, speechless.
"She deserves better..." Blaze thought, sitting in his room in the fetal position. He promised Evil Sage that he'd never try to kill himself again, but it was the only way that he could be out of the way so she could find someone better. He grabbed the pocket knife from his desk and held it to his wrist. He was about to slash his wrist when he found a piece of paper lying on the floor. He picked it up and recognized right away that it was Evil Sage's handwriting. It wrote
Why is it You?
My heart breaks
My heart breaks
This is more than I can take
How could you?
I trusted you that it was something you wouldn't do
I did the same, but it was out of revenge
But now I think that this is the end
How can I trust you now?
How can this go on, how?
It could be over by now, but I can't let you go
And I miss you so much, but you don't know
The rain reminds me of tears
The tears I shed when I saw my greatest fear
When it became reality
I can't give you up
Your love is like a drug
Every word, every kiss, every hug
I can't breathe without you
I can't live without you
But now I've lost the will to live and don't know what to do
You're not here now, but when you get back you'll be sorry
Because I know now that you can't be trusted alone
This is something I should have known
I want to know what this is to you
Do you really want to be with me?
I'm blinded and I can't see
I can't see how you feel
I can't see what is real
How can I see through the haze?
Please tell me the truth
You have to help me, Blaze
Blaze couldn't believe this. Why did Evil Sage write this? It made no sense. He never really did get her.
"What the hell are you doing?" he heard his sister say. He turned around and saw Violet with a scowl on her face. He knew what she was mad about.
Violet saw the pocket knife that her brother had in his hand. She just rolled her eyes. She knew what her brother was planning.
"Do you know what this is?" Blaze asked, hold up the piece of paper.
"Oh, that?" said Violet, "It was something that Sage wrote after she saw you kissing that chick. And you know what she said to me? She said "I deserve better, but Blaze is the only guy I'll ever love and I can't live without him". How pathetic. I gave up on love because I got dumped so many times" then Violet walked out of the room.
"She said that...?" Blaze thought. He dropped the knife and stood up. He had to go have a talk with Evil Sage.
Blaze was walking down the street when he saw Sage in the alley that they had met up in. He walked towards her. She hadn't moved from that spot. He placed his hand on Evil Sage's shoulder. She spun around to see Blaze standing there.
"Sage, it's been three hours. What are you still doing here?" Blaze asked.
"What happened left me so shocked..." Evil Sage said, "...you haven't held me like that in so long... and I didn't know why you were apologizing"
"I was apologizing for what I said and for being such a jerk," said Blaze, "you were right. I should have restrained myself. And I'm sorry that I told everyone about what happened between us. And by the way... the urge to kill myself isn't completely gone. I was about to cut myself when I found this" and he held out the poem.
Evil Sage gasped and grabbed the poem away and hid it in her pocket. Blaze couldn't believe it, but Evil Sage was blushing.
"Sage, I already read it," said Blaze, "and Violet told me what you said... and I feel the same way"
Evil Sage couldn't control herself. She threw her arms around Blaze and kissed him. When they broke apart, Evil Sage started to giggle.
"How pissed was Violet that you failed?" she asked.
"I could tell that she was about to burst a blood vessle, but I don't care," said Blaze, "if she's mad, that's her problem. We'll most likely succeed next time"
"And next time I'm coming with you to make sure that you don't do anything stupid like makeout with a girl that isn't me" said Evil Sage. And for the first time in so long, she smiled.
Seriously, I wrote this like right after seeing Trail Blaze. I stayed up all night and and spent hours after school to finish this. Would have been up sooner if I didn't have school and a doctors appointment. Anyway, tell me what you think!
