Oooh, like a comic book that tells the story of Dark Oracle from the perspectives of Violet and Blaze?! Good thinking. Maybe bigfanofsage can do artwork, and the rest of us can contribute to writing and whatever else (just an idea, I realize it would be really hard). In any case, Light Oracle comic strips would be fun.

It would be fun to do, but that actually takes a lot more time than the quick illustrations I have done here.
Things are somewhat busy these days.

we can suggest the idea to any company that makes comic books or to YTV.

Light Oracle? Hell no! That doesn't sound very appealing... However, maybe someone from the show like Jana could try to make a deal with a comic book company and print Dark Oracle comics! But do not count on YTV- they suck. Maybe they could make Dark Oracle novels! Based on the episodes! YES!

Companies to talk to would be Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, and even Archie. I would stay away from Image Comics. Shop the idea to companies that have the appropriate market shares and they may be interested.
Wizard also may be of some help as they are kind of like a Time Magazine for comics readers....
just a thought anyway.

Unless they start getting airtime in more countries (specifically the US) they probably won't be.

What about the comic book?
If the show's creators & producers want to pursue this, there are a number of avenues that they can take. As fans, we can ask, sign petitions and ask some more, but that's about it. Asking the comic companies on behalf of the show is pointless for a multitude of legal and practical reasons.
The thing to remember is that the project would cost many thousands of dollars. Even if the comic company was simply providing the printing and distribution, that costs money. They need to make money to be interested and of course, so do the show's producers. While it's entertainment for us, it is a business for them.
Unfortunately, the market is too small to be profitable.
I think that there is very little chance of this coming to fruition.
The practical amount of time it actually takes to professionally produce an entire comic is typically a month or more. This is on a professional level, where multiple artists, writers and editors work together to make a finished product. While they very rarely would actually be in the same room, it takes time to write and send the script to the penciller to draw, for him to either ink or send to an inker (It's a lot more than just tracing!) who in turn sends it to a colorist who sends it to a letterer who sends it back to the editor (the editor should see copies of each step along the way). As fast as I am, it has taken me a day or more to do a single page - and that's just pencils! Most comics are at least 28 pages.... so, you get the idea of the time commitment.
This is the kind of thing I would love to do, but really don't have the time to do it right.
If anyone else wants to give it a try, I would be happy to offer advice or pointers.

I think we should give it a try. I know that it's gonna be tough, but I think that we can convince the producers of the show to make a comic book. Think about it, if the show wasn't successful, they wouldn't make another season. I think that if we want the creators and the producers to make a comic book of the show, we can convince them!
